Understanding Spatial Stratified Heterogeneity Using R

Geographical detectors model was developed to quantify spatial stratified heterogeneity. A few models were developed to improve the capacity of geographical detectors model in terms of the optimisation of spatial data discretisation, spatial autocorrelation of geogrpahical attributes, spatial overlay of multiple variables, etc.

"GD" and "IDSA" R packages were developed to perform geographical detectors and relevant models. The "GD" package was published on CRAN in 2018, and the current version is "GD 1.10".

In the document "Introduction to Spatial Stratified Heterogeneity Models in R", examples for performing the latest spatial stratified heterogeneity models using the "GD" and "IDSA" packages are introduced. The models include (1) geographical detector (GD), (2) optimisation of spatial data discretisation, (3) optimal parameters based geographical detector (OPGD), (4) spatial association detector (SPADE), and (5) interactive detector for spatial association (IDSA).

The introduction of the optimal parameters based geographical detector (OPGD) model was published on GIScience & Remote Sensing. The application of "GD" package to perform GD and OPGD models is introduced at the vignettes of GD package.

The development of the interactive detector of spatial associations (IDSA) was published on International Journal of Geographical Information Science. The "IDSA" package is used to perform SPADE and IDSA models.
